Why an Artificial Turf Sports Surface?

Artificial turf (or synthetic grass) holds a number of different properties that make it a perfect sports product. With over 15 years’ experience working with it, we know exactly what is viable and what isn’t so in return we can create a high performing sports surface that encourages activity and will have an increased longevity. As synthetic turf technology develops, it aims to perform like real grass only without the mud/mess and little maintenance compared.

And better yet, we specialise in all sorts of sports including football, rugby, hockey, tennis and much more which means that it would only be obligatory to use FIFA, IRB, ITF AND FIH approved artificial turf to create the most realistic surface.

So What is the Process?

At STM we are always on the customers’ side which means we aim to adhere to your budget so you can get the most from your surface. We can also recommend additional features to your sports surface such as fencing and lighting needs. We will make sure you get what you ask for and are happy with the finished result. Our team of highly qualified installers operate all over the country and pride themselves in their work.

We have collated a step-by-step approach so you know exactly what you are getting from your sports surface installers STM:

  1. Assessing your needs
    • This is a very crucial step because it means we can have a consultation with you to find out exactly what it is you want and what your main focus is on, e.g. if you are opting for a MUGA but you want the main focus to be hockey. We will discuss costs, timings, products, performance, longevity and additional features.
  2. Site investigation
    • We will measure the area to assess the size, shape, base works and how much turf will be required for the project.
  3. Design concepts
    • We use specialist CAD software to come up with a blueprint for the design of your sports surface. This will give you a great idea and then you can start the funding process. For more on funding options, please click here.
  4. Construction
    • Then comes the installation process, which is designed according to the sport that it will be used for. We always ensure efficient drainage and appropriate base works. We can also install shock pads to cushion landings.
  5. Fencing and Lighting
    • Did you know that we can offer fencing and lighting options for your sports surface? This may be the cherry on top of the perfect sports surface. We also provide seating and shelter areas.
  6. Maintenance
    • But it doesn’t just stop at that, we offer a maintenance package to adjust the longevity of this sports surface and ensure it lasts up to 20 years!
