From 2018 to 2019: An Interview with the STM MD and Sales Staff

23rd January 2019

We asked the STM’s Managing Director Jon Bell and Regional Sales Manager Chris Stanley what they thought of 2018 and what they expect in 2019. Here is what they said…

What was your favourite 2018 project & why?

Jon “For me the most interesting and dynamic project... is Emmanuel College with the refurbishment of the existing tennis court to a multi-use goes area with base works, 15mm pad and Evo Pro artificial grass. We then did the painted Netball Court with a new sub-contractor followed by a full build Netball Court, fencing and LED lighting system. In total we used 5 specialist sub -contractors to complete the works. Following on from this would be the Colmers full pitch resurfacing as it involved again a new sub-contractor working directly on the uplift, pad and surface installation”.

Chris “Agree with all Jon has put here. For me another interesting one was the rooftop install at St Angelina's with the Base Panel”.

What you want to achieve in 2019?

Chris “We already have some massive projects in this year with innovation being a priority. We are aiming to enhance our bases from dynamic to engineered for a similar cost to the customer”.

Jon “2019 is also about going back to our core values. Our business name says what we do "Synthetic Turf Management": providing clients with the full range of design, build and maintenance services. Focus will range and drive full pitch resurfacing, MUGA's, EPIC playgrounds and tennis courts”

Chris “2019 aims for me are really focussing on resurfacing which we are now in a position to do. We have gained contacts in 4 of the biggest manufactures of turf in the world and are generating leads from them as well as being involved with consultants”.
