It has been a very busy week or so over here at Synthetic Turf Management. Not only have we been transforming school playground areas and sports surfaces, but we were also honoured to exhibit at the Youth Sport Trust 2015 Conference, as well as sponsoring and presenting the ’Outstanding Secondary PE’ award.
The Youth Sport Trust 2015 Conference took place last week on the 4th and 5th of February at the amazing Telford International Centre. The conference itself is a huge event which brings together physical education and school sport professionals, as well as businesses like ourselves who can offer various services to help improve schools across the UK.

The conference this year was quite special, as the trust itself was celebrating its 20th anniversary, so the theme of the whole event was examining the future of PE, physical activity and school sport and looking forward to the next 20 years. Offering many breakout sessions across the two days, there was access to a range of inspirational speakers and many different seminars, consultation opportunities and effective practice sessions.
To celebrate 20 years of the Youth Sport Trust, we were invited along to a prestigious gala dinner which took place on the first evening, which we all found incredibly inspirational. The food was beautiful, the wine was flowing and there was even the opportunity for a little dance - which of course we took advantage of!
We sponsored the Outstanding Secondary PE award on the evening, where I presented an award to Oakwood Primary school for their dedication to physical education. Congratulations again, Oakwood! You thoroughly deserved it!

If you had the opportunity to attend the conference last week, then you will most likely have popped along to see us on stand 340, where we met a lot of interesting people, shared knowledge and spoke about our industry. You will have also seen that we were running a competition on our stand, whereby you could win £150 worth of Youth Sports Direct vouchers to spend on sports equipment. We selected our winner, which was Wood Green Academy in Wednesbusy. Congratulations, guys! We hope that you enjoy your new equipment.
The overall event was spectacular and we made some great contacts within the industry, which is always important to us. We hope to continue working alongside the Youth Sport Trust for years to come, as the work they do for the young people of the UK is phenomenal and should be celebrated.
