Youth Sport Trust 2016 Annual Conference

8th March 2016

STM travels to Coventry for the annual Youth Sport Trust conference where we sponsored the award for ‘Young Person of the Year-Empathy’

The Youth Sport Trust is a governing body that believes every child should have the opportunity to be physically fit through sports and PE sessions. This non-profit organisation is passionate about building a brighter and better future for the younger generation and STM work closely with the Youth Sport Trust as their values are in line with what we as a company also aim for.

This week STM travelled down to Coventry to attend the annual conference at the Ricoh Arena; with an awards dinner on Wednesday 2nd March followed by an exhibition the following day. We enjoy the Youth Sport Trust conference as we can build up relationships with fellow businesses and exchange knowledge and expertise with a variety of different people from all over the UK.

The Awards Dinner

Sue Campbell Speech

Baroness Sue Campbell, Chair of the Youth Sport Trust, opened the awards dinner with a fantastic speech.

“I am extremely proud of how, through our partnerships and engagement with professionals like yourselves, we are able to change attitudes and behaviours that are improving health, wellbeing, academic achievement and raising standards, giving the nation’s young people a platform for future success”.

This year it was announced that Kimberley Wyatt, is a new ambassador for the Youth Sport Trust and is launching a ‘Well-Fit’ campaign which we are proud to be part of as we strive to ensure that children are given the opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle through the use of our state-of-the-art MUGA’s, EPIC playgrounds and sports surfaces to encourage fitness and well-being.

The awards dinner started at 6pm and was incredibly inspirational for everyone in the room. We were provided with welcome drinks and an outstanding 3 course meal with wine, the evening also went on late with some great entertainment, including singing waiters/waitresses! It really was an amazing atmosphere.

The Exhibition

On Thursday, if you happened to be at the conference you would have seen us on stand 11 at the Youth Sport Trust exhibition, we enjoyed a day speaking about our industry to lots of different people: learning from each other and sharing ideas with likeminded professionals.
