With the Women’s Euros 2017 starting very soon, we thought we would take this opportunity to talk about football. Particularly artificial grass in football and extending the number of people taking up the sport.

Over recent years, we have seen a huge increase in the role astro turf plays in football; from grassroots, all the way up to professional level. And every year we notice other well-known clubs enquiring about revamping their touchlines, training facilities and more.
But today we are focussing on allowing access for more people to take up the game (particularly women and girls) and one of the key factors is giving them the facilities to play whenever!
It is great to see that year on year we have found there to be more of an interest in women’s and girls’ football all over the UK. Football was typically always perceived as a man’s sport but with tournaments such as the Women’s Euros being promoted as such high-profile events, it is great to see a driving interest in the sport from all ages.
Another way to help drive this passion, is through the facilities. It can be hard to attract anyone to a sport with outdated (and often unsafe) facilities. A vibrant astro turf pitch is a great way to start! Whether you’re a school, leisure centre or football club the next 20 years are sorted with synthetic turf pitches. Synthetic turf football pitches come in a variety of different styles with different properties, depending on who is using the facility, what for and how often, determines which product would be suitable for you. Synthetic turf is easy to maintain and is free draining. Often, training sessions and games are cancelled due to flooded pitches and unpredictable British weather, but with astro turf, we can keep the passion going for sport, even during winter.
