5th January 2017

Now is the time to start thinking about refurbishing, revamping and giving your tennis court that much needed makeover in preparation for 2017, but why synthetic turf and why choose STM for your tennis court installation? In today’s blog, we are talking court types, player performance, upkeep/care and much more! So, sit back, relax and enjoy learning about STM tennis court installations.

First thing’s first… Synthetic Turf…

There are many different types of surfaces to use for tennis court installations and synthetic turf is just one of them however this ever-growing and popular product is the number one choice for a lot of tennis clubs in the UK including Boroughbridge, Prestwick and Hutton Rudby whom we have completed many installations for. Synthetic Turf has many different properties which delivers an all-weather playing court. The artificial grass blades are texturised and infilled with silica sand. A variety of colours can be used and the permanent court markings are also synthetic, meaning that you never have to redo these on a regular basis as you would with other types of markings.

Player Performance

Enhancing player performance is a must and can help to encourage more people to use your tennis club. Synthetic Turf can be used all year round therefore will branch out to other target markets.  The surface is also non-abrasive and landings are softer than many other surfaces. STM synthetic turf also is designed with exact specifications to mimic professional courts. This in turn helps to enhance player performance.

Upkeep of Synthetic Turf After Your Tennis Court Installation

Now let’s get down to the nitty and gritty stuff, well actually there isn’t any! Synthetic turf surfaces are incredibly low maintenance and for much of what you do need to do, e.g. a gentle brushing every now and then, you can do this in house. STM also offer a full maintenance service, for more on this see our artificial turf maintenance page.
