The production team have been busy with green artificial turf recently completing some fantastic designs for a school project, which includes a grey roadway and a penalty football box area with additional sports markings.

Why Artificial Turf?

Designing Artificial Turf

Quite often STM are contracted to complete full-sized sports pitches and huge playgrounds where we are required to create a specific dynamic base. Therefore, we try to be as time-effective as possible.

If our artificial turf projects require intricate designs and details such as children’s playground areas or detailed sports pitch markings, before the work gets well underway in preparing the base, often we will make the designs in house first. This is because it can be a lengthy process in cutting and gluing. The glue often takes a day to dry and we always want to limit the time on site as much as possible to provide limited disruption.

A Roadway and Goal Box

But this week was specifically for education and the team have been cutting white line marking and designing sports markings to exact specifications which will be made into a football pitch when transported to site. In addition, this grey and white roadway was spiralled into the surface and cut into a wave shape which pupils at the school can use for their PE lessons and playtime.Left the goal box waiting to dry.
