Junior School’s Playground Becomes EPIC

26th November 2015

Synthetic Turf Management have been in Birmingham installing another EPIC project at Marlborough Junior School in the West Midlands. Marlborough had very limited playing space for their pupils so the school took the decision that two classrooms would be knocked down to open up the playground and a new playing surface could be installed.

As you can see below the existing playground was very dull and grey, with faded painted markings on concrete and tarmac services which doesn’t create a fun, safe or imaginative play area for the pupils at the school.

The existing play area at Marlborough was far from EPIC. This wasn’t the playground the school wanted for its pupils which is why they contacted STM.

It was at this point that STM where contacted and we were tasked with the job of installing one of our EPIC play surfaces at the Birmingham based school.

Our EPIC system stands for “Education and Play In Colour” and we developed this as we believe in the importance of outdoor play and learning in schools. Getting children active and engaging in outdoor learning is more important than ever so our safe, all weather coloured artificial turf is the perfect solution for school playgrounds.

This product is a popular choice for schools and even the Youth Sport Trust recognising our EPIC system with the Baroness Sue Campbell having some very kind words to say about our EPIC playgrounds.

We designed a stunning Multi-Use-Games-Area (MUGA) using our coloured EPIC grass. The fantastic design included a two lane oval running track with a range of sports markings for netball, football, hockey and more. As you can see from the pictures below the finished outcome looked great.

The stunning playground finished in Birmingham. This great play area has giving the school a running track and multiple sports pitches so they can now offer so much more to their pupils.
