Gisborough Hall

Gisborough Hall is a hotel, and caters for a number of different facilities including tennis. It is important that their facilities are kept to a high quality to contribute to their fantastic reputation and be in line with the values of the business.

Their outdoor tennis court was in need of a revamp so we sent our maintenance manager out to deliver a preventative maintenance program which involved sanding and spraying.

A sand top up was needed at Gisborough Hall. The surface had not been maintained properly for years and the old sand was very contaminated and this was causing moss and algae to grow all over the surface. STM were called in and we cleaned out the old sand and topped the surface back up with fresh, clean sand.

Spraying the Artificial Turf

Spraying is a normal process on synthetic surfaces, particularly tennis court maintenance, as the biggest contaminant on synthetic surfaces is usually moss and algae. It is difficult to get rid of and can be a lengthy process but it is manageable. It is usually caused by the surface being damp through not getting enough light or contaminated infill not allowing water to drain away, also gathering debris does not allow water to drain and not allowing the surface to breath can help cause this.
