Redcar School turn to an Grass MUGA

25th July 2016

July 2016 was the month we saw a new Prime minister, temperatures soaring all over the UK and we simply have to mention the Coatham Primary Grass MUGA design that crept its way onto the Redcar school’s playground surface completely transforming the whole look of the school! With two hundred and sixteen square metres of our specialist turf along with a little bit of magic from our team of installers we delivered a fantastic physical activity facility for all of the school children to enjoy! Take a look at our story only on the STM blog…

rotten trim trail with bark surface

Coatham Primary School had existing play equipment which had long passed its best. The equipment was so weak and unusable that it simply had to be removed. STM can do all of this for you and prepare something much more vibrant, bright and more inviting to encourage children to spend more time outdoors.

The play equipment was soon gone!

We then got down to it! Removing the existing base works and creating a smooth area for the artificial grass MUGA that will soon make an appearance.

Then the crushed limestone base works are spread across the surface on top of the weed membrane.

The artificial turf type that we use is of an exceptional high quality and we used a beautiful field green colour along with a border of red. This 24mm pile height product is texturised and coated in a silica sand infill meaning that it can take different sports activities on a regular basis. The monofilament pile is designed for multisport, playgrounds and agility therefore was the best product for this grass MUGA.

Without Further Ado…

Here is Coatham Primary School and its brand new artificial grass MUGA. Waiting for all of the children on their first day back at school in September.

In comparison to tarmac, artificial turf is more vibrant, colourful and inviting to encourage all pupils to use it and lead more active lives throughout the school day

We think it looks amazing and will make a huge difference to their school and the sports facilities that they can offer.
