Gym goers are on the up! Portlaoise Leisure Centre certainly has the right idea…An artificial turf gym mat is on its way to Ireland for them!

Synthetic Turf Management (STM) always want to extend the boundaries and try new innovative projects so when we were asked to make an artificial turf gym mat, we jumped at the opportunity!

Last week this gym mat was created using high quality gym turf. This specialist turf from our suppliers at is usually used for hockey and multi sports, but as it came in a variety of colours too it was perfect for the desired use. It looks great, stays clean and remains that beautiful coral colour all year round!

This gym mat was made at our Stokesley offices, on site, however was too long to fit in the warehouse so the production manager bared the cold and designed this masterpiece! So much of a masterpiece that all of the team wanted a look at the beautiful colours and precision design before it was shipped to Portlaoise Leisure Centre for a gym.

 Over the past year we have seen a boom in people attending gyms all over the UK, in fact last August The Guardian reported that gym membership had increased by 44% and coupled with the new years ‘get fitter’ resolutions, we see this as a perfect time for gyms to excel!
