5 Step Project Completes Artificial Grass MUGA

7th April 2016

Last week our installation team travelled almost 400miles to Kings School in Plymouth. All in the process of developing a marvellous artificial grass MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) for school children to benefit from as part of their school sports routine.

Artificial grass MUGAs consist of high quality artificial turf which is supplied and designed by Synthetic Turf Management which combine a whole different variety of sports pitch markings to create a multiple use sports facility for students to use all year round. Yes they are fully weather proof!

And the other fantastic benefit of artificial grass MUGA installation at schools is that they are super safe and very low maintenance so you don’t have worries about children playing on the surface or having to have constant external maintenance on the product.

Multi Use Games Areas

Kings School

Kings School  is a co-educational independent school in Plymouth and they recently approached us with the desire to transform an area of outdoor space into a surface that will be optimised to the best that it can be. That’s where we designed and installed an artificial grass MUGA.

The Plan for the artificial grass MUGA is completed with specialist CAD software, to learn more about what we do with CAD, please click here.

Netball and football court coupled with three mini tennis courts allowed for a variety of different sports for this school to play with the best facilities possible! We always bear in mind the age of children and the size of the pitches when we design to ensure it is suitable.

Step 1: Base Work Patching and Levelling

preparing the base works

We always ensure that there is a smooth flat surface to create the safest surface to play sports on.

Step 2: Drilling the Base works

It is important to drill the base works to ensure appropriate drainage in wet weather

Step 3: Carpet Installation

After that, step 3 is the carpet installation of the artificial grass MUGA. Always installed with the utmost precision

Step 4: Cutting the Lines

Cutting in the pitch markings

We always cut lines to precise measurements of the pitch markings.

Step 5: A Completed Artificial Grass MUGA

And then the project was complete with an outstanding result

The sports pitch allowed for netball, football and tennis to be played all round! And the school were very happy with the end result!
