Glasgow Tennis Court Installation at Merchants City Festival!

This week we took a flight to Glasgow but it wasn’t for a holiday! Instead we created an indoor tennis court installation for the Merchants City festival which is starting this weekend! And what a privilege it was to complete!

The Merchants City Festival is taking place this year at Candelriggs Square in Glasgow from 30^th July to 7^th August and the SSE is putting on a prize draw this year centred around Wimbledon 2016 Champion Andy Murray! Participants will get the chance to enter into a simulation experience to see if they can return Andy Murrays famous serve! And our tennis court installation is being used in the whole simulation competition! This means hundreds of people will be playing on the surface across the week which means we needed a super durable surface, that’s where we came in!

We don’t use any old artificial turf at STM, for an event such as the Merchants City Festival we need to ensure that the surface used is suitable to all types of tennis players including some who may not have served a tennis ball, to the ultimate pro! We also need to make sure that people have a fair chance of returning Andy Murray’s serve, which is why we are using high performance tennis surface Paddle. To ensure that people can play to their best ability!

So over just 1 day our team of exceptional installers, we completed the tennis court installation at an incredibly high standard!

We organised for the rolls to be delivered well ahead of the installation so there would be no delays.

The marquee was temporarily put up for this event, the base was made from wooden boards but we can do anything with artificial turf so this wasn’t a problem for us! The carpet then went down…

Doesn’t look like a tennis court just yet… but be patient!
