Education and Play in Colour (EPIC) and its Exclusivity to Synthetic Turf Management

EPIC is what we pride ourselves on at STM but what is it? And why does it benefit hundreds of schools all over the UK? In this news article, we will explore the possibilities of EPIC in today's blog.

What is it and what does it stand for?

EPIC stands for Education and Play in Colour. We use specialist texturised artificial turf to create a design predominantly used in schools for playgrounds and nurseries. The multi-coloured artificial grass is designed in different features to bring education into the outdoor environment. We aim to transfer some areas of learning outdoors and make it a fun and interactive tool that can be used at all times of the day. EPIC is a resource for teachers to use, it is a socialising technique for pupils to mix and mingle, it is a fun environment and it looks astonishing, (plus it ticks a few boxes for Ofsted!). EPIC is known for being super safe and bespoke.

What can you include in EPIC?

Anything!

That’s right, as mentioned earlier, it is designed with your ideas in mind, we aim to provide guidance and ideas but feel free to plan yourself. Ask your students, parents, teachers and the local community what they would like to see in the playground, here are a few ideas below:

• Creatures: dragons, snails, butterflies, bees, ladybirds and much more!
• School logos: we can even include your school logo as part of the installation
• Targets and PE facilities
• Hopscotches and number lines
• Playground equipment

Add Some Sports to your EPIC Installation

Many of our customers decide to add additional PE facilities to their playgrounds. For example, The Daily Mile has taken off in schools all over the UK and many schools wish to include a running track within their installs. We have also completed mini tennis courts, MUGAs and sports pitches.
