Edinburgh Primary School

24th November 2020

We have recently undertaken this project to overlay on old tarmac MUGA that needed quite extensive base repairs to make the area safe and usable for the school and the local community.

We worked on this project in conjunction with Edinburgh Primary and local charity Salaam Peace who will utilise the area in the evenings to encourage local youngsters   to   come   and   play   football or basketball in a safe monitored environment.

After consultations with the school and the charity we recommended a sand dressed surface to be installed with a 5mm shock pad underneath. This system will mean the surface is very durable and can be used as a MUGA. The sports that can be played on the surface will be Football, Netball, Basketball, Tennis and Hockey as well as general PE for the school.

Project leader for Salaam Peace Sabir Bham said of the project.:

I would like to thank Chris and team for the FABULOUS redeveloped facility @ Edinburgh Primary School. Chris and the team at STM, despite the Covid 19 situation, gave us a lot of time, kindness and support throughout the planning phase   and   the   installation   team   worked   tirelessly   to   ensure   the   work   was completed in time. Partnerships are built on people and we are hopeful this will be the first of a few capital development programmes with STM.
