Caersws Community Facility MUGA – Wales

Synthetic Turf Management completed a design and build project consisting of 1200m2 refurbishment of a block of 2 tennis courts. Converting them into a more user friendly Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) in a small village in central Wales.

The old tarmac surface was in poor condition and the fencing was aged and damaged.

The old fencing was replaced with a new twin bar system 3m high with two recesses goal units. Addition of the recesses allows maximum space for play and much needed storage on the MUGA.

The existing tarmac base was power cleaned, moss and algae sprayed and patch repaired to ensure tolerance levels. Synthetic Turf Management then design in a 10mm shock pad and STM “DuraPro” sand dressed 2nd generation surfacing meeting the multi-use requirements of the client.

Now the MUGA is complete it will be used by the local football team for training with ages ranging from children as young as 7 up to adults playing for the first team. It will be a fantastic asset to the whole rural community.
